TIRU supports all the runners of the RUN ECO TEAM association
One of my favorite stories is from Nicolas Lemonnier. In France, he started picking up trash while running and uploaded photos to his Facebook group. So many people liked and commented on his posts that he launched Run Eco Team, a group which now has more than 1,500 members picking up trash while they are out running.
It's a very simple proposition. My biggest dream is that runners everywhere pick up waste every time they go out running. “1 run = 1 waste” so that everybody begins to realize the impact of waste on our planet.
Beyond our everyday life, we wanted, in a more tangible manner, to get involved in the ecological transition issues. Thus the Run Eco Team's approach appeared as an evidence: together, we join our forces to make clear that waste is no more a dead end but a resource.
1 run = 1 waste !
You spend your energy,
a new one is created
AN ECO-CITIZENSHIP ACTION
Go-ahead for an eco-run! Everyday a lot of trash is thrown away. With RUN ECO TEAM, I run and pick up the pieces of trash I find on my way. A simple and citizenship action to protect our planet!
THE WASTE, A SOURCE OF ENERGY
Trash, an unexpectable treasure! All the picked-up pieces of trash will live a second life. Some will be recycled, some will be transformed in renewable energy such as electricity, heating or green energy to produce biogas or compost. Thus I become a real player of circular economy!
THE GOOD GESTURE OF WASTE SORTING
Once the finishing line is crossed, I don't forget to put every piece of trash in the appropriate bin, just to be sure it will start a new life! To learn the right sorting gesture is essential to circular economy! But don't forget that the best trash is the one we don't produce!
The RUN ECO TEAM app
TIRU and RUN ECO TEAM develop a completely unprecedented mobile app! In addition to usual running functions (performance, distance, route), it calculates the potential energy produced by the picked-up pieces of trash.
A nice motivation to run further and further!
